This lens would have rated mint except for very slight wear on the rim in one spot. The elements are clean, clear and fungus free. The diaphragm operates correctly.

These lenses are very sharp at all apertures with only very slight edge fall off at f1.4. The equivalent focal length when used with a digital SLR would be 73mm, which is a very useful size for portrait and sports photography. These prime lenses give very bright and clear photographs and do not have the murky look of modern multi element zoom lenses. They are ideal for low light use without the annoyance of a flash which attracts attention to the photographer thus loosing the element of candid work.

SSC stands for Super Spectra Coating which was developed by Canon and is very effective at reducing flare and increasing light transmission.
