Capodimonte Naples antique 19th Century lidded trinket box hand painted

Offered for sale is a fine quality Capodimonte Naples Southern Italian porcelain trinket box  dating to the late 19th Century . The bowl has an elegant quatrefoil shape with a domed lid with lobed sides and surmounted with a finial naturalistically shaped as a berry or fig. The bowl is made from soft paste porcelain profusely decorated with mythological figures in the Renaissance revival style ; the figures are modelled in shallow/low relief and hand painted in a bright palette of colours ; the upper rim of the bowl and lower rim of the lid are highlighted in a gilt pattern. Capodimonte/Naples porcelain has a 300 year old lineage with the influence of Meissen apparent in the elegant and opulent styling  Size :.height including the lid 10.5cm ; length 12cm ; width 10cm.
