Hard cover, red boards, gilt lettering to spine, 191 pages. This copy reprinted 1892, published by MacMillan and Co. London and New York. The first edition was printed 1890.
The boards have, what appear to be, insect damage. The corners are bumped and the spine not square. The gilt lettering to the spine faded. The binding is good, bottom part of back board cracked from spine. Binding is visible between pages 48 and 49. Foxing especially on end-and title pages.
Opposite title page is a drawing of Captain Cook, protected by a transparent page with a traced image of Cook. The front page edges are uncut.
Please see photographs for content and condition. Buyers are welcome to contact the seller for more information concerning the book.
