Pros: This is great for charging your iDevices while driving.
It has the proper resistor dividers on the USB data lines to set up 2.7V on D- and 2.0V on D+ to tell the iPhone to charge at the full 1 Amp just like the real Apple chargers.
When I bought it, given the price, I half expected this to have a cheap linear regulator inside so I broke it open and put it through the tests. To my surprise, this uses a switcher chip (XL1509) and really does delived what it says on the label. With a load resistor of 4.7 Ohms 5W it puts out 1.1 Amps at a steady 5.05 Volts (and really gets the resistor cooking after a while). Short circuit delivers 4 Amps.
Cons: Looks like manual soldering on the SMT parts, but nothing to worry too much about. Build quality is quite acceptable.
