About Us
CarBin is the creation of a team of postgraduate students from the University of Cape Town. We are all a part of the 2012 Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Management class in which we have been set the challenge of starting a small business from just a R50 start-up loan. The team was required to conceptualize, design and produce an innovative, eco-friendly “storage” product and raise the funds to do so. The result is a very practical product that supports a green initiative in correct waste disposal and a commitment to social upliftment.
Our Product
CarBin is a small but smart dustbin that neatly fits into the interior of any car. It not only provides a space to hide and store the litter that accumulates in your car, it also provides the opportunity to play a part in effective waste disposal.
Our Mission
Our mission is to encourage drivers throughout South Africa to reduce, reuse and recycle their litter while taking care of both their vehicles and our environment.
Community Involvement
A percentage of the profits received from each CarBin sale will go towards SHAWCO community projects. The projects help to educate South African high school students and to develop entrepreneurial flair amongst unemployed adults throughout Cape Town.
