carl Zeiss Jena product. The production of Feldstecher in Jena began 1894/95 and nearly from the beginning onwards monocular versions of the binocular Feldstecher were made, but always in small numbers. 12 x model is rare and was introduced in 1896, the features show that it is an early one, maybe from 1896 or 1897. The eye cup is missing, also the leather case. We have searched for the two digit serial but cannot find it anywhere.
