Carl Zeiss Victory 10x40B T*P* Binoculars - Waterproof, Armored & Nitrogen Purged. Photos are of the actual binoculars.
The binoculars found in the Victory Series are Zeiss' top-of-the-line. The manufacturer considers the four new models to be their "biggest binocular accomplishment in a quarter century".
Optically, the binoculars are no less than superb. In addition to T* anti reflective multi-coating and P* phase correcting coating found in the company's other lines, the Victory models employ Zeiss' new Advanced Optics System (AOS). Abbe-Koenig prisms allow for advanced light transmission properties, while a four-element objective lens has been utilized for superior image quality. The system makes use of high-index glass that is free of any polluting heavy metals, such as lead and arsenic. This improved design permits lens elements to be of a smaller center thickness, making for a lighter and more compact binocular.
The Victory Series is constructed for ease of use and built for the long haul. The center knob is large enough to be operated while wearing gloves and serves two functions. In the bottom position, the knob acts as a focusing drive. In the top position, it is used to set one's prescription in diopters. Eyeglass wearers will also appreciate twist and lock eyecups that promise a full field of view. Each model is nitrogen filled, resulting in a waterproop/fogproof body. Lastly, the rubber-armored binoculars are impact-resistant and shock-tested.
Model 10x40B is a multi-purpose binocular for those wishing more magnification than the 8x40B. Nature lovers, birders and wildlife biologists will all appreciate this model's exceptional qualities.
