WITH TWO CD'S, published by Earbooks, 2003, hardcover, illustrated, 28.7 cms x 28.7 cms, condition: as new.

Carmen, as the title figure of the opera of the same name, has become a legend. Her name is synonymous with the passionate Spanish woman, love and jealousy, Seville, and ultimately with flamenco. Heading away from the beaten track, photographers Tina Deininger and Gerhard Jaugstetter have gone in search of the Carmen myth and have captured the authentic flamenco style in dramatic pictures. Music CDs: Vibrant flamenco guitars, Spanish orchestral works, and a selection from Bizet's Carmen. The main theme is performed by Jennifer Larmore under the direction of Guiseppe Sinopoli.

Tina Deininger, born in 1935 in Hanover, and Gerhard Jaugstetter, born in 1956 in Geiselwind (both Germany), live in the South of Germany and both worked for some years as photographers in the advertising business, before establishing their own photographic studio in 1986. Since 1992, they have been exhibiting regularly in Germany and abroad. Their photos have been used as book title pictures by a number of renowned publishers, and huge numbers of their images are to be found in private and public collections. Their photographic travels frequently take them to Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries, such as Andalucía, where the photographs were shot for Carmen's Dance.
