Used as a bonsai, because Carpinus turczaninowii has smaller leaves than its european cousin at between 3-4 cm long. It has a very twiggy and fine branching combined with small light green leaves that have a spectacular autumn display of yellow, orange and red. Has for long been a favourite in Japanese Bonsai with many specimen trees around.
