THIS IS THE 2nd LOT/SET OF ALFRED MEAKIN ASTORIA DESIGN CASCADIA PATTERN ITEMS LISTED

THE CASCADIA PATTERN WAS RELEASED BY ALFRED MEAKIN , TUNSTALL DURING THE 1930's AND DISPLAYS A LOVELY BRIGHT MULTICOLOR FLORAL PATTERN WITH AN EMBOSSED DETAIL UPON A 18ct GOLD TRIM SCALLOPED RIM. THE SHAPE/DESIGN OF THE PLATES & BOWLS IN THIS LOT ARE CLASSICALLY KNOWN AS ASTORIA.

ALTHOUGH THIS PATTERN (NOT THE DESIGN) WAS DISCONTINUED BY ALFRED MEAKIN DURING THE 1940's IT WAS ONE OF THE PATTERNS WHICH BECAME PART OF THE CHURCHILL GROUP IN 1976. ALFRED MEAKIN OPERATED FROM 1875 AT THE ROYAL ALBERT, VICTORIA AND HIGHGATE POTTERIES IN TUNSTALL

THE LOT CONSISTS OF TWO SALAD BOWLS AND TWO BREAD & BUTTER / SIDE PLATES -

1)- SALAD BOWLS EACH - 3.4cm HEIGHT.....10.4cm DIAMETER OF BASE.....22.6cm DIAMETER OF RIM

2)- BREAD & BUTTER PLATES EACH - 1.2cm HEIGHT.....9cm DIAMETER OF BASE.....17.8cm DIAMETER OF RIM

STAMPS/MARKS ETC : THE ITEMS ARE EACH STAMPED UNDERNEATH - "ALFRED MEAKIN, ENGLAND"

CONDITION : THE BOWLS HAVE SOME FADING OF THE GOLD TRIM ON THE RIM AND THE SIDE PLATES HAVE FAINT AGE RELATED CRAZING ASIDE FROM WHICH ALL OF THE ITEMS ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION WITH NO CRACKS, DAMAGES OR CHIPS ETC
