Superb rebinding incorporating original decorated gilt spine and boards. Very good indeed. Spine gilt still very bright with title and decoration of an elephant. The front board has a gilt facsimile signature of Rhodes and blindstamped decoration. Content is clean with sporadic light foxing on outer leaves. Bottom edge has a light stain. Binding very tight. Frontispiece portrait of Rhodes still has its tissue paper. All eight other contemporary photograph full page illustrations also present.  Neat contemporary name and address on front free endpaper. Attractive bookplate inside front board. Two old newspaper articles about Rhodes tipped in inside back board. A pleasing copy of the extremely scarce first edition. Seller Inventory # 80030
