Centurion is a 2010 historical thriller about the Ninth Legion's disastrous campaign into Pictish territory in 117 AD, where Roman officer Quintus Dias (Michael Fassbender) joins the surviving soldiers to escape enemy warriors, led by a tracker, after their general is captured and most of the legion is slaughtered in a betrayal. The film follows Quintus and his small group of survivors as they desperately try to reach the safety of the Roman frontier while being relentlessly hunted through the harsh Scottish landscape.
