The CENTURION i5 V3 Infrared Safety Beam Set is a wired transmitter-and-receiver safety device for automated gates, garage doors and controlled entrances. It is suited to residential properties, commercial sites and professional installers who need reliable detection when a person or vehicle crosses an entrance. Its potential-free relay output allows it to interface with a wide range of compatible automation equipment, making it a practical safety addition to new or existing installations.

Key Features

Detects people and vehicles crossing the entrance. When the infrared beam is interrupted, the receiver changes its relay state so the connected automation controller can respond appropriately.
Covers entrances up to 40 metres wide. The extended operating distance makes the i5 V3 suitable for standard residential driveways as well as larger commercial and industrial access points.
Makes beam alignment easier. A wide infrared beam provides an automatic alignment area of approximately 9 m² at a 10 metre distance, reducing the precision normally required when positioning opposing beam units.
Provides clear installation feedback. Green LED indicators show power status at the transmitter and correct beam alignment at the receiver, helping your installer commission and diagnose the system.
Supports flexible low-voltage installations. The 12 to 24V AC/DC input range allows the beams to work with a variety of compatible gate and garage-door automation power supplies.
Designed for exposed entrance areas. The IP54-rated housings provide protection against dust ingress and splashing water when the units are correctly installed.

Did You Know?

CENTURION recommends using a separate COMMON wire when the beams are connected to later gate operator controllers with Beam Test functionality. This allows the controller to test the beam circuit more accurately.
The commonly quoted 750 mm installation height is a recommendation rather than a fixed requirement. The final beam height should be selected according to the entrance layout and what needs to be detected.
On longer installations, particularly beyond approximately 10 metres, final alignment may need to be checked with the beam covers fitted. The housing can affect the final optical path enough to matter over longer distances.

Compatibility & App Support

The i5 V3 does not connect directly to a mobile app. It interfaces with compatible gate, garage-door and automation controllers through normally-open or normally-closed potential-free relay contacts. On compatible CENTURION sliding and swing gate motors, the beams can be used with PIRAC (Beam Autoclose) functionality, while certain later CENTURION controllers also support Intruder Detection Alarm functions using the beam input.
