Cereus peruvianus, also known as Apple Cactus for its edible fruit, is native to South America. The traditional variety, which is often confused with Trichocereus peruvianus, is a columnar cactus with six to eight flat ribs. These seeds have monstrose genetics. Monstrose is a term used to describe a mutation in the growing point of a cactus. This results in unique distortions of the original form. These unusual varieties are highly collectible among cactus collectors.
