OPAL
Mined in the Wollo Province in northern Ethiopia, these opals can have a vivid play of colour flashing from a body colour of clear, white, yellow, orange, or brown. This opal quickly became known in the trade as welo opal.
Opal is the birthstone for the month of October, along with pink tourmaline. It is also the stone given to celebrate the 14th year of marriage.
Our gemstones and jewellery
All our gemstones are examined and tested by qualified gemmologists and we are selling only the finest gemstones from all over the world, with accurate descriptions and photos. Some of our gemstones (like tanzanite) are imported in rough and locally cut and polished by master cutters.
With more than 20 years of experience, we gladly take on jewellery requests for any gemstones bought from us. We use a Master Goldsmith who is a perfectionist as well as an artist of note. All jewellery items are magnificently handcrafted in painstaking detail and finished to meticulous perfection to create a one of a kind piece you'll treasure for life.
