chanson water ionizer alkaline etc acidic, purify water etc

This item is called a Chanson  Water Ionizer 

This item sells second hand at cash converters for R10000. It sells new online for R19000 - R75000

I have no idea what it does but assume that it makes water alkaline or acidid and/or purifies it. It connects with 2 small connecters water in and out at the back.

The item have some wear and tear marks on it. It comes from a diseased estate and was found in a cupboard. I switched it on, all buttons are working, sound is working, screen is working making me assume that if connected into a water system that it will indeed work. It also display filter life as 83 %. Filters can be purchased online

The item is best described and is sold as is. I do not have the water fittings to run water through it but the condition etc makes me think that it will work fine.
