The Bronte Sisters. Four hardcover volumes, from the extremely rare seven volume set. (I could find
no available copies of these books online).
Published in London by Smith, Elder & Co.
Volume 2: SHIRLEY by Currer Bell (a pseudonym used in Victorian times, to veil the authors gender).
Charlotte Bronte: Firmly bound, with foxing to front-end internal pages only. Story-pages in quite
remarkably good condition (pub. 1887). Illustrated throughout with fly-paper intact.
Volume 3: VILLETTE again by Currer Bell/Charlotte Bronte (refer above). Firmly bound, with foxing to
front-end internal pages and outer-end pages. Again the story-pages are in a very good age-related
(pub. 1887) condition. Illustrated throughout with flypaper intact.
Volume 4: THE PROFESSOR (With Poems), again by Currer Bell/Charlotte Bronte. Illustrated, with poems by
Currer Bell/Charlotte Bronte. A shake to the spine detected, but remains firmly bound. Foxing to
front-end internal pages and more slightly to outer-end pages. The story-pages are in a quite
remarkable good condition (pub. 1885). Illustrated with fly-paper intact.
Volume 6: WILDFELL HALL (THE TENANT OF) by Acton Bell/Anne Bronte (pseudonym as explained above).
Slight shake to spine but remains tightly bound, with minimal foxing to front-end pages and to
outer-end pages. Story-pages exceptionally clean (pub. 1889). Illustrated with fly-paper intact.
These volumes are in a very good age-related condition, and have been well cared for throughout their
140 year old life. Previous owners inscription (in pencil), inside one of the books.
