Chiastophyllum oppositifolium commonly known as Lamb's Tail or Gold Drop is a succulent, perennial flowering plant and the only species in the genus Chiastophyllum of the family Crassulaceae. This little-known cousin to Sedum is endemic to shady mountain areas in the Caucasus.

Plants form a low mound of thick, succulent green leaves, bearing upright stems with dangling chains of bright yellow flowers in late spring and early summer.

It is widely listed under its synonym Umbilicus oppositifolium.

It is a hardy, prostrate evergreen growing to 25cm with large fleshy leaves. From late spring to mid-summer it puts on a magnificent display of chains of sulphur-yellow flowers.

It is said to be cold hardy to -28°C. It is best suited to shady gardens with poor soil and requires little to no fertilizer. It also adapts well to growing in pots or mixed containers. It is a well-behaved plant, with no inclination to become invasive. It is also worthwhile mentioning that Chiastophyllum oppositifolium grows well in sandy or clay soil.
