KNUCKLE GIRLS By Richard Allen (pen name for James Moffat)
Nel first paperback edition, 1977.
ISBN 0450036251
A story about two middle-aged social workers (one male, one female), and the love triangle they find themselves in.
There is the type of aggro-vignettes you would expect in a Richard Allen book, all told in flashback to the social workers by the knuckle girl herself (there is only one, despite the title), Ina Murray while she is held on remand in prison. But you also get the social workers (or more likely Richard Allens) theories on why the youth of the 70s were so violent.
Readable preowned condition, moisture marks and book is a bit warped, pages tanned.
Watership Down (1972) A novel by Richard Adams
Awards:Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature Best Book (nominee)
Carnegie Medal Best Book
Story line:
Fiver could sense danger - something terrible was going to happen to the warren. His brother Hazel could sense it too. They had to leave the warren, and they had to persuade the other rabbits to join them. And so a band of rabbits begin a long and perilous journey. One of the most remarkable and bizarre British novels of the 1970s, WATERSHIP DOWN'S success has been so great that it is one of the very few books that can be described as having changed a generation's view of the world.
