GHOST CHILLI - Bhut Jolokia
These Ghost Chillies are grown completely organically without the use of any artificial fertilisers or sprays. This seed is FRESH and grown under South African conditions.
The Bhut Jolokia (Capsicum chinense,) or Ghost Chilli, named for its ghostly bite, is one of the hottest chilli pepper in the world. Also known as the Naga Jolokia and Bih Jolokia, Guinness Book of World Records confirmed it with an official (SHU) of 1,001,304 Scoville units. The Bhut Jolokia is twice as hot as the Red Savina (350,000-577,000 Scoville units) and is similar looking to the Dorset Naga. When ripe, the ghost chilies are 60 mm to 85 mm long and up to 30 mm wide. They have an orange or red colour. They are very similar looking to Habanero peppers, but they have a rugged skin.
When harvesting protect your skin and eyes from these chillies. They will cause extreme discomfort. Use gloves, and handle with care. Wash utensils that touch these very well.
Suggested Use:
Ghost Chilies are very, very, very hot Use them sparingly, add a little to fresh salsa, sauces, chilli and anything else you want to start a fire with. The Ghost Chilli is good raw, pickled or cooked.
