BLACK HUNGARIAN PEPPERS

Black Hungarian peppers gradually become darker and darker as the mature. The plants start maturing at roughly 70 days after transplanting.  Once the peppers are fully mature, they are deep red or nearly black.  The pepper pods grow to 10 cm long, and a good choice for fresh dishes like salsa.  The heat is relatively mild on these peppers, typically 2500 Scoville units or less.  Black Hungarian pepper plants can grow to a height of about 60 cm tall, and they have a beautiful dark purple blossoms.
