Hot Pepper Long Red Cayenne Capsicum annuum

125 mm long and 12mm thick fruits are FIERY HOT, often curled and twisted. Great for drying, processing, or sauces. Use fresh or easily dried for winter use. Harvest starts about 70 days after plants are set out.

Days to Germination: 10-21
Days To Harvest:  70
Planting Depth: 5mm
Spacing, Plant: 30cm
Light:  Sunny Location

In colder areas you can start indoors about 8 weeks before outdoor planting time.  Sow seed 5mm in seedling trays (see our Plastic Seedling Trays).  Keep moist.  Seedlings emerge in 10-21 days.  Transplant to individual containers when seedlings have at least two pairs of leaves.  Accustom to outdoor conditions by moving to a sheltered place outside for a week.

SET PLANTS 30cm apart in rows a sunny area after all danger of frost.  Set top of root ball 12mm below the soil surface.  Water well.

SEED can be sown in directly into garden when soil is warm.  Peppers can not tolerate frost.

HARVEST when fruits have reached full-size, green or red.  Dark red fruits are fully ripened.
