Published by Victor Gollancz Limited, 1943 hardcover. The paper jacket is whole, but is tatty, marked and torn on the edges, and the spine is sunned. The boards are edge worn and faded in places, with the corners bent inwards. There is a book dealer's stamp on the first free end paper. All the pages are aged, and a bit browned, but are intact and unmarked. There are several black and white photographs and two fold-out maps in the rear. This book was prepared under the auspices of the Ministry of Information of the Republic of China, and prefaced by H.E. Dr. V.K. Wellington Koo, Ambassador of China at the Court of St. James's.
