This is a beautiful, complete, and authentic Yixing red / purple pottery tea set from China, still in its original box. Yixing clay, known as Zisha () or purple clay, is highly prized for its unique properties that enhance the flavour and aroma of tea over time. This set is perfect for collectors, tea enthusiasts, or anyone who appreciates traditional Chinese craftsmanship. The box reads, "Red", but a little bit of research revealed that - especially in older Mandarin red and purple sometimes gets confused in translation.

About the Set

The set includes:

• 1 Teapot with lid: The teapot features a bamboo-style handle and spout, symbolizing resilience and strength in Chinese culture. It's decorated with traditional carvings, including a landscape scene on one side and Chinese characters on the other. - 6 Cups: Each cup has a matching bamboo-style handle and a carved Chinese character. The bottom of each cup has an embossed seal, likely the artist's or pottery's mark.
• 6 Saucers: The saucers are stamped with the same seal as the cups.

Condition

The set is in excellent, unused condition and comes in its original box, making it a great gift or collector's item. Please note that one of the cups has a small defect on the rim, a slight chip that is visible in the detailed photo. This minor imperfection doesn't affect the cup's function but should be noted.
