A Chinese Hexagonal Cloisonné Vase, Qing Dynasty
- The untested alloy body, presumably bronze, decorated with six panels each depicting a phoenix in flight, rendered in polychrome enamel.
- The surrounding surfaces, aside from the shoulder, foot and mouth rings, cast and chased with archaic designs
- The base with impressed (not cast) script
- No visible traces of earlier fire gilding
- Later stabilising repair to the interior foot rim
- Estimate: R4 000 – R 6 000 (Reserve: R3600)
