The private collection of Chinese huanghuali furniture associated with Eskenazi is a distinguished group of 16th to 18th-century pieces from a South African private collection. It was the subject of a dedicated exhibition at the Eskenazi gallery in London from 325 November 2011 to coincide with the 14th staging of Asian Art in London. 

 A private South African collection, though individual pieces like a pair of 17th-18th century rectangular side tables (banzhuo) have also been linked to the Glen Alpine Collection.

This fully illustrated 59-page catalogue titled Chinese Huanghuali Furniture from a Private Collection was published for the 2011 event, featuring 14 major entries with detailed annotations and diagrams of construction techniques.

This was Eskenazi's first catalogue devoted exclusively to classical Chinese furniture, following a smaller huanghuali furniture exhibition held in 2000. 

 All items are crafted from huanghuali, a highly prized Southeast Asian hardwood (Dalbergia odorifera) valued for its natural grain and luster.

Highlights include refined mortise-and-tenon joinery, often left visible or expertly hidden, and minimalist designs that emphasize the wood's natural beauty without added stains or thick lacquer.

 The furniture dates primarily to the late Ming and early Qing dynasties (17th18th centuries), representing the pinnacle of Chinese furniture design
