Chinese Mudmen, unglazed

In the ancient art of Chinese Penjing, little figurines are used to further suggest the artists depiction of a landscape or other vista.

These figurines are still made today, from clay, glazed or unglazed and then fired. The level of detail is quite something if you consider the size of the individual characters.
