An old Chinese ornamental rice barrel - vintage or antique?
In good sound condition with signs of age - difficult to assess when they were made.

Constructed as an octagonal barrel, hand crafted and hand painted.
This barrel depicts a peacock in flight.
I found only two similar items - though bigger - on E-bay:

The lid is in excellent condition due to being protected by cloth.
There are two bands of beading - made with twisted copper wire - as you can see there is damage around the bands.
