Horses were amongst the most important animals in Ancient Chinese Culture and mythology. Horses have been present from the very beginning of Chinese culture, both on a mythical and symbolic level and they represent speed, perseverance, imagination and symbolize pure male strength. 
A culture and and appreciation of horses in China dates back to the Shang dynasty (1600-1100BC) when real horses were buried with the emperors.
Tang horses were made in China as tomb accessories for the comfort and use of the deceased in the afterlife. They were a symbol of status, and are usually found in the tombs of the rich and powerful, as well as the imperial family.
Today many horse figurines based on these Tang warrior horse figures are made and has become a Feng Shu figurine of good luck.
