TERRACOTTA ARMY INFANTRY FIGURINES On offer is a set of five Terracotta Warrior figurines (replicas). They look as if they have just been dug up, but are more likely to be 30 - 40 years old.
The set consists of 1 High Ranking officer
1 Middle Ranking Officer
1 lightly-armed foot soldier
1 kneeling Archer
and 1 horse (apologies if I have named them incorrectly, other than the horse)
The Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the Emperor in 210-209 BCE and whose purpose was to protect the Emperor in his afterlife.
The Terracotta Army was discovered on 29 March 1974 by farmers digging a well. A museum complex has since been constructed over the area.
They are each in very good condition, some with minor chips. They are made from a terracotta type material and are each approx. 17cms high. They have a combined weight of 2,3 kilos.
Quite an interesting addition to any Militaria collection.
