Chinese thumb ring is carved from greenish-yellow Hetian jade in the shape of a recumbent ox, with a cylindrical hollow bore running through its center, embodying the classic form of traditional ancient archery thumb guards. The jade features natural tinting, covered with light and dark brown stains and hair-like veins, and its surface bears mild, time-honored patina. Fine incised lines trace cloud patterns across the body, with concise strokes shaping the oxs horns, facial features and limbs.
