Chippendale is without doubt the most famous name in the history of English furniture. He filled the prosperous houses of the 18th-century England with marvellously designed 'Chinese' chairs, 'French' sideboards, Gothic bookcases, Rococo mirror frames and classical tables, each constructed with the finest craftsmanship and materials.
