CHRISTIAN ETHICS: VOLUME I A PRESENTATION OF GENERAL MORAL THEOLOGY IN THE LIGHT OF VATICAN II
C. Henry Peschke, S.V.D.
Condition: Good, mild shelf wear, spine unforced, clean interior
SPECIAL NOTE:
This edition bears Nihil Obstat (H. Francis Davis, D.D.) and Imprimatur (D. Leonard, V.G., Birmingham, 12th September 1973), certifying it as doctrinally sound within postVatican II moral theology.
First issued in 1975, this 1981 fourth printing (C. Goodliffe Neale, Alcester and Dublin) reflects the continuing scholarly authority of Peschkes synthesis of Vatican IIs moral directives.
The Preface explicitly situates the work within the theological renewal following the Second Vatican Council (19621965), noting the decline of preconciliar Latin manualist moral theology and the need for contemporary systematic texts. Peschkes collaboration and acknowledgment of Bernhard Häring, C.SS.R.one of the Councils most influential moral theologiansstrengthens the books importance as a secondary but authoritative interpretation of Vatican IIs moral theology.
