Christine is voltooi in opdrag van die Kaaplandse Raad vir die Uitvoerende Kunste en aanvaar as inheemse openingstuk vir die Nico Malan-teater, Kaapstad maar is later vir dié geleentheid afgelas. Dit sou op 16 Junie 1971 onder regie van die skrywer geopen het met sy vrou, Kita Redelinghuys, in die naamrol. Die administrateur van die destydse Transvaal het die opvoering laat voortgaan, maar eers nadat hy die teks gesuiwer het van sekere woorde en handelinge.

Christine is deur Tine Balder in Vlaams vertaal en in 1973 het Edgar Sievers, leier van n Duitse toneelgeselskap in Pretoria, dit in Duits vertaal. Pieter Venter, wat Die verminktes in Engels vertaal het as The Maimed, het Christine in Engels vertaal.
