  Sibutramine hydrochloride is a selective serotonin and noradrenalin re-uptake inhibitor used for medical management of obesity. This is not a rapid acting drug but rather one that fosters slow, safe and steady losses of fat mass that are maintained over a long-term. This drug is most effective in conjunction with a low calorie diet and a training program.
  
  Sibutramine reduces body fat via two very distinct and effective mechanisms. Firstly it suppresses the appetite and studies have shown people decrease their calorie intake to as much as 1300 calories a day. Secondly sibutramine stimulates metabolism and daily caloric expenditure. One single tablet of 30 mg sibutramine has shown an increase in basal metabolic rate by up to 30%. This increase in metabolic rate usually lasts up to six hours from taking the capsule.

  Thermogenic action of sibutramine is known to occur via the adrenergic system, mainly through the indirect support of beta 3-receptor activation. With this drug we mainly see strong increases in brown adipose tissue thermogenises (BAT) and this increases the body temperature by 0.5 to 1 degree Celsius. As soon as the body temperature increases it is a clear indication that thermogenesis has been triggered and that fat burning is now happening.
  
  Clinical trials have shown that sibutramine works remarkably well with obese patients. In these trials it was found that sibutramine also had significant improvements in serum triglyceride and HDL cholesterol levels. Because the patients entered in the clinical trials were obese these levels were very poor at the onset of the trials. In other words their HDL cholesterol levels were extremely bad when they started the clinical trials as obese patients. For someone who is not obese the improvements in serum triglyceride and HDL cholesterol levels might not be as significant.
  
  The most common side effect with sibutramine is an increase in blood pressure. For this reason patients with high blood pressure and cardiovascular problems should not be using this product. Other common side effects include dry mouth, sleeplessness, irritability, back pain, stomach upset and constipation. As the patient gets accustomed to the sibutramine these side effects usually subside. Patients who are using any form of anti depressant should also not use this product. The drug interactions between sibutramine hydrochloride and anti depressants have shown to be a very negative one.
  
  After taking the 30 mg tablet of sibutramine in the morning you will instantly get very thirsty. Make sure to consume as much water as possible when the thirst sets in. Some people fight the thirst and this would not only be uncomfortable and stupid but it also has a negative effect on the optimization of the effects of the product. As you increase your water intake it seems to activate the sibutramine better and your fat burning results are more favourable. The people who fight the thirst find that when the thirst subsides without any water consumption the apatite suppressing characteristics are not as pronounced as the people who consumed a lot of water. Without water uptake you get very hungry later in the afternoon when the product wears off and then you defeat the object by consuming large amounts of food.
