This style of breeches was popular during the first half of the 20th Century and were worn by British Officers during the Great War and in the inter-war period. By the beginning of the Second World War they were being phased out of use with the British Army but would have still been worn for country pursuits. 
John Scott & Co was run by Lieutenant-Colonel John Scott, who retired in October 1925. Scott was also the first Commanding Officer of the Cape Town Highlanders.

The Breeches form part of the Militaria Collection of Lt Col AD Irvine who served in the Union Defence Force in North Africa and Europe during WW2 and for the South African Air Force.
Condition: Fair, used breeches with some some marks, the clothing has not been cleaned and is offered as is.
The wool and linings are still in very good condition, there is one button missing on the fly, the stitching is still very good. Pocket linings are not torn.
