STUNNING CLARICE CLIFF,CHERRY TREE VASE,STYLE 990, 1937 - 1938

This is one of two,almost matching vases (in my posession) by the famous pottery works in Newport,UK,headed up by the famous Clarice Cliff who was probably the most influential ceramic artist of the 20th century.Cherry Tree has an embossed tree with coloured flowers on a mushroom glaze.This is an important collectors item as it marks the move away from the Bizarre to the Romantic period.The vase rests on three feet which are an extension in the form of roots of the Cherry Tree.
