THIS IS A CLASSIC FEDORA HAT MADE BY BATTERSBY OF LONDON AND BOUGHT AT SALOOJEES EXCLUSIVE OUTFITTERS IN WARMBATHS IN THE 1980S. THESE FEDORA HATS WAS IS ALSO CALLED THE INDIANA JONES HAT SINCE IN WAS POPULARISED IN THE FRANCHISE FILMS.
Battersby, of course, was a legendary English hatmaker. Battersby Hats was the trading name of Battersby & Co, a hat manufacturer of Stockport, England. The firm opened in 1895 and once had a capacity of 12,000 hats per week but it declined in the second half of the twentieth century and merged with other hat manufacturers in 1966 before hat production ceased altogether in 1997.
Saloojees founded in 1975 is a clothing retailer in Johannesburg and Bela Bela which sells various fashion clothing brands. They are still in business.

WITH A SHALLOW INDENTED CROWN AND A 6CM BRIM WHICH IS SHAPED DOWN IN A CLASSIC FEDORA SHAPE.
A FEDORA IS A CLASSIC HAT WITH A SOFT BRIM AND INDENTED CROWN. IT IS TYPICALLY CREASED LENGTHWISE DOWN THE CROWN AND "PINCHED" NEAR THE FRONT ON BOTH SIDES.
INDIANA JONES POPULARIZED THE FEDORA IN THE FILM FRANCHISE.THE BACKSTORY OF HOW HE OBTAINS THE HAT IS TOLD IN THE PROLOGUE OF INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE, THE THIRD FILM OF THE SERIES, AND THE CHARACTER WHO GIVES HIM THE HAT IS CREDITED AS "FEDORA". ANOTHER POPULAR FILM STAR JOHNNY DEPP LIKED TO WEAR A FEDORA HAT AS DID MICHAEL JACKSEN IN HIS MUSICAL PERFORMANCES.
