This is a plastic model requiring assembly
This Collectors' Series model illustrates the principle of the four-stroke cycle in an internal combustion engine.
These engines first appeared in 1680 and used gunpowder as a fuel, but it was not until 1860 that the first successful gas driven engine appeared. The 4-stroke petrol engine symbolises the modern world, being the engine powering most cars since the beginning of the 20th Century.
Once built this marvellous kit moves as an internal combustion engine does, with the piston completing four separate strokes—intake, compression, power, and exhaust. All the movement can be seen through the cut-outs in the model.
