Heart shaped, deep green leaves on cinnamon colored stems sometimes turn yellow in autumn, adding to the climbing hydrangea's seasonal interest. This native of Japan, Korea and Russia creates an especially full profile with lots of leafy lateral branches. One of the greatest features of this plant is that it flowers in a shady location, never seeing any sunlight. In the evening the flowers are quite heavily scented.
