Climbing Strawberry's

These are easy to grow and very rewarding.  Ideal for people who live in apartments, flats or have very small gardens.

How to grow

Dampen a paper towel, put your seeds on the damp paper towel and stratify (refrigerate in fruit and veg tray) for 3 weeks in a zip lock bag

After refrigeration/stratification take the strawberry seeds out of the bag.  At this point the seeds can be germinated in the zip lock bag in a warm place or heating pad or fill a pot with potting soil place the seeds on top and lightly cover with fine potting soil.  Keep the soil moist.  Professional germination mix works very well for the germination of seedlings as it already contains all the right medium to nourish the seedlings but we have germinated many strawberry seeds using normal potting soil.

To create a miniture greenhouse effect for the germination of the seedlings in the pot, cover with cling wrap, once germination takes place, slow roll back the cling wrap to acclimatise the young seedlings.

Once the seedlings have formed their 3rd and 4th true leaves, transplant into the container where you would like them to grow.
