The vast Waterberg Range has long been a fabled wilderness area in South Africa. At 1 800 million years of age, this mountain range is one of the oldest in the world, being much older than other well-known ranges like the 50 million-year-old Himalaya Mountains, the Andes Mountains and the Rocky Mountains.
