This is part of a limited production run of practical swords made by Cloudhammer Forge of Taiwan/Vietnam to be used for test cutting in the context of HEMA tournaments and similar activities. The blade is of a flattened diamond cross-section and the pommel and handguard are made of stainless steel. The grip is a cord-wrapped wooden core. The scabbard is a simple wood core with a faux leather wrap. The fit between the sword and scabbard is positive, but not unreasonably tight either.
The blade itself is made of Hudson S5 medium-carbon steel that has been heat treated appropriately at Cloudhammer's facilities. This is a real deal, full tang sword with sharp edges for cutting. The tang is peened over the pommel and has been polished to the point of being almost invisible.
Please note, that as this is a real sword, it is a potentially dangerous item that should not be bought as a gift for children. Also, despite the quality of the steel used, swords can not be used in the same manner as garden tools without destroying them, so please note that trying to cut down trees or splitting wood etc will damage any sword, no matter how superior it is in terms of construction.
