A fascinating and reasonably contemporary look at coaching--primarily mail coaching--with lots of funny and some tragic stories of the adventures of coach drivers and their sometimes unfortunate passengers. Also information on routes, although you need a good map of contemporary England to find out where the places are, as some of them have dwindled to very small spots on the map or disappeared entirely--sometimes into the urban sprawl of 21st century cities.
