HISTORY
Long recognised by the cognoscenti as the home of the world’s finest china, silverware and glass, the house of Thomas Goode is a London institution. Situated in the heart of Mayfair’s luxury district, the magnificent Victorian showroom is a retail destination unlike any other, its elegant interior replete with exclusive designs by classic heritage brands and modern masters. The peerless bespoke service draws a sophisticated international clientele, who reap the benefits of almost two centuries of tableware expertise.
THE THOMAS GOODE STORY
The twin elephants of Thomas Goode have stood sentinel over South Audley Street since Victorian times, and the showroom – designed by the architect Ernest George in 1875 – is a space that still speaks of timeless British values and pedigree. Established in 1827, the business was transformed into London’s foremost tableware emporium by the founder’s son, the enterprising William Goode, who travelled the world in search of the finest porcelain and bone china designs. His prestigious clients included the Tsar of Russia and Queen Victoria herself – and today the store still holds two warrants to supply the royal household.
