Coco peat bricks are bricks of coco peat that have been dried and compressed for ease of transport and packing
The bricks are to be soaked in water for an hour or so until it expands into a friable medium for use in potting media and most importantly as a seed starting media. It is quite sterile and inert, which allows seeds to germinate without the threat of damping off
Mix 3 parts of coco peat with 1 part perlite and you have a perfect seed starting medium. This medium can be used in trays and small pots. In bigger pots it holds too much water and more perlite is necessary to keep the media light and less retentive of water
Coco peat also holds nutrients really well. So for the purposes of seed starting it is ideal. You can dilute up some liquid fertilizer and apply it without it running through the medium and out the bottom, (when applied in sufficient doses).
