A species of coffee plant that produces the well-known Arabica coffee beans, which are highly prized for their rich flavour and aromatic qualities.
Fruit: The coffee arabica tree is known as a coffee cherry. These cherries start out green and turn red when they ripen. Each cherry typically contains two coffee beans, which are the seeds used to make coffee.
Light: Some degree of shade is often beneficial for coffee cultivation, as it helps regulate temperature and prevents excessive sunlight from scorching the plants.
Watering: Require a consistent amount of rainfall throughout the year. They typically thrive in regions with annual rainfall between 1,500 to 2,500 mm. However, they also need a dry period to encourage the cherries to ripen.
Height: Coffee arabica trees are evergreen and typically grow to a height of 1.8 to 4.5 meters. However, under optimal conditions, they can occasionally reach up to 9 meters.
