Coffee Service De Haviland Bavaria Rosenthal Papageno Vintage MCM

This beautiful service comprises a coffee pot, sugar bowl, creamer/milk jug and 6 cups.

The discontinued "Papageno" Birdcage range was manufactured by AG Rosenthal in Bavaria in the 1950s.

The "Exquisite" form was designed by Raymond Fernand Loewy ca 1953.

The pattern was designed by Johann Haviland ca 1955.

Each item is delicate porcelain with a charcoal glaze and features one or both variations of a long-tailed bird in a cage with a ribbon design.

Examples of this range are on display in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

The cups measure about 6.5cm in height, the sugar bowl approx 6cm, the milk jug approx 8cm, and the coffee pot approx 14cm.

This set is in excellent condition.
