Coin puzzles
Welcome the first of a series of coin collecting puzzles. These have been specially designed to collect certain coins with a specific history fully described and allowing the coins to be specially housed together with its history that you have created with the supplied raw materials. Purchases of the coin(s) together with other memorabilia e.g. thematic stamps and first day covers are a further option. It is my wish that this will stimulate coin and allied thematic collecting, and possibly more importantly, encourage you to make a study of the items of this noble hobby. Enjoy these puzzles and have great fun with them.
Coin puzzle 1 – Old National Symbols
50c. Few people appreciate that the blooming flowers on the reverse side of the 50c, viz. the white lilly, the blue agapanthus and the orange, blue and white colours of the strelitzia represent the oranje-blanje-blaauw – the colours of the old South African flag.
Have you studied the symbolism of the old Coat of Arms of South Africa with its rich old SA history? Many decimalised coins of SA depict the COA. Any coin will do for this puzzle – The better the quality of the coin the easier the COA’s can be appreciated – another important lesson when coin collecting – always try to get the best quality.
This puzzle comes with:
- a collector’s page for housing the coins and its description.
- a 160gm board divider that also acts as the template for the puzzle.
- an extra board with the description that needs to be cut as per instructions and fitted into the correct collector page slots as per the template.
The completed puzzle contains a proof 50c and 20c ( both 1975) as well as the Unc thematic stamps in self adhesive mounts.
The raw puzzle materials and the coin and stamp accessories can be purchased seperately - see BoB Coin puzzle 1 and 1a or alternatively click onto “view all the seller’s items”.
Coin holding folders can also be purchased.
