The white porcelain body creates a high-contrast base for the trailing blue floral transfers, while the gold scrollwork on the cup handles adds a premium tactile finish. This crisp white English porcelain is decorated with soft blue cornflowers and teals. Featuring elegant, scalloped rims accented with a rich 22k gold gilt finish. Light, delicate clay body composition typical of premium post-war Staffordshire pottery.

The uniformity across the glaze runs highlights the quality control of the mid-to-late 20th-century Staffordshire factories. The side cake plates and cups make an exceptionally large grouping for a vintage find of this era, offering immediate hosting utility for large gatherings.
The clear factory marks visible on the undersides verify that this set hails from the late 1960s to early 1970s production window under Ridgeway management, long before production was consolidated and ultimately phased out.
Manufactured by Colclough China at the Vale Potteries in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. The clear backstamp shows the genuine vintage Colclough makers mark surmounted by a crown, declaring "Bone China, Made in England, A Product of Ridgeway Potteries Ltd."
This specific pattern, Braganza (Pattern No. 8454), was introduced in the mid-1960s and remained highly collectible until production wrapped up in 1997 under the Royal Albert banner.
Famous pop culture connection: This is the exact pattern used on-screen as Hyacinth Bucket's coveted "Royal Doulton with the hand-painted periwinkles" in the iconic BBC comedy Keeping Up Appearances. While the character claimed it was Doulton, the prop department used this exact Colclough service for her legendary candlelight suppers.
